As part of the Great Mission Return to the Homeland, the 93rd repatriation flight arrived in Venezuela on November 28th, an initiative spearheaded by the government of President Nicolás Maduro.

This latest arrival brought 104 men, 24 women, three boys, and five girls back to Venezuela, for a total of 163 compatriots received at Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía, where all necessary protocols were implemented to ensure their safe arrival.

“I’ve returned to freedom. I feel happy because I’m in my country where I’m treated like people, like human beings, and that’s something I really wanted,” one of the migrants declared at the airport. Another recounted suffering discrimination, racism, and psychological abuse. “I was detained for almost five months for nothing, just for being a migrant. They treated us like we were crazy,” shared one of the Venezuelans who returned on repatriation flight number 93.

The messages of gratitude in a video posted by the mission on its TikTok account demonstrate the positive outcome of the Bolivarian leader’s initiative, giving a second chance to those who have experienced difficult situations outside of Venezuela. “I come ready to move forward and persevere like every Venezuelan,” stated one of the beneficiaries of the Great Mission while thanking the Venezuelan people and President Maduro.

The Venezuelan government has reiterated the safety of these flights and the absence of danger to the American pilots. The previous flight, number 92, guaranteed a safe return for 175 Venezuelans, including seven minors who were victims of the policy of deportations and mass detentions implemented by Trump.

The Great Mission Return to the Homeland has allowed more than 13,000 Venezuelans to return to the nation, which protects these people who are victims of discrimination and mistreatment because of their migrant status.
